Reporting to the Residence Communications Officer, the Residence Communications Coordinator is part of a the growing Housing Services team that provides support to SHRL’s operational, administrative, facilities and student life areas. This role will provide support to the Communications portfolio with a large focus on internal student facing communications including, social media campaigns, assisting in the development of promotional and marketing materials, and managing digital platforms.

This role will also provide training and support to student staff and professional staff who support programming within residence.

Hours of Work are Monday to Friday 8:45am to 5:00pm on-site.

This position has occasional evenings and weekends work to support students living in a 24/7 residence environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of promotional/outreach materials
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms
  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Coordinating submission processes for online content generation and changes
  • Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
  • Directing the work of volunteers in defined activities

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Intermediate level experience with Adobe Illustrator and In Design
  • Demonstrated experience creating/posting social media campaigns with a focus on a post secondary student population
  • Ability to apply AODA standards to marketing and communications materials
  • Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience in apost secondary residential environment
  • Experience with video editing/production (i.e. Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects)
