Road Safety Coordinator

About the Role

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Road Safety Coordinator will be responsible for the enforcement of the road safety standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor alerts related to the drivers’ behavior (speeding, unbuckled belt, using phone in motion, idling, use of vehicle outside of authorized hours, etc.) and escalate each case to the relevant people manager.
  • Track responses of the people managers to the escalated cases and if no action is taken escalate such cases to the Head of Facilities and respective Head of Departments.
  • Extract monthly drivers’ behavior reports from the tracking system (speeding, idling, after-hours mileage, burn rates, etc.), prepare the dashboard and the list of red flags for the month and share with senior management team.
  • Provide road assistance in Port Moresby in case of accidents and break downs.
  • Assist Fleet Manager in the investigations of road accidents and vehicles’ misuse and provide conclusions and recommendations.
  • Oversee vehicle registration and safety sticker renewals, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Fleet team with other assignments when necessary.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate. A tertiary qualification will be considered as an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with corporate fleets.
  • Sound understanding of road safety standards and requirements.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and interpreting data.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have a Valid Class 6 Driver’s License.
