What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)

  • Answer telephone calls and assess the urgency of calls, providing assistance or directing callers appropriately
  • Schedule patient appointments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and notify patients of changes or cancellations
  • Build and modify provider master schedules and clinic calendars to accommodate various needs
  • Book diagnostic tests and specialized appointments, ensuring patients receive necessary paperwork and instructions
  • Maintain filing systems, inventory of office supplies, and oversee support staff as needed

What Is Required (Qualifications)

  • Four years of related work experience, two of which must be in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle heavy phone volume and manage patient interactions effectively
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proven record of exemplary attendance, punctuality, and reliability

How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience scheduling in a high-volume healthcare-related call center or medical practice
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with EPIC scheduling and electronic medical record systems
  • Experience using multi-line telephones and ACD lines
  • Spanish-speaking ability
