What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Answer telephone calls and assess the urgency of calls, providing assistance or directing callers appropriately
- Schedule patient appointments, resolve scheduling conflicts, and notify patients of changes or cancellations
- Build and modify provider master schedules and clinic calendars to accommodate various needs
- Book diagnostic tests and specialized appointments, ensuring patients receive necessary paperwork and instructions
- Maintain filing systems, inventory of office supplies, and oversee support staff as needed
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- Four years of related work experience, two of which must be in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to handle heavy phone volume and manage patient interactions effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proven record of exemplary attendance, punctuality, and reliability
How To Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience scheduling in a high-volume healthcare-related call center or medical practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with EPIC scheduling and electronic medical record systems
- Experience using multi-line telephones and ACD lines
- Spanish-speaking ability
