SPGS International School Bangkok is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support the work of the Admissions Department, focusing on the recruitment and support of students to ensure that we recruit bright and talented young people who will benefit from the education we will offer.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Admissions, the Admissions Officer will support the day-to-day recruitment of prospective students, providing an excellent and welcoming service to both applicants and their parents. In addition, they will provide administrative support to the Director of Marketing and Admissions. The postholder will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, highly organized and with an ability to manage different projects concurrently. 

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are not exhaustive but give an indication of the scope and accountabilities of the role. In consultation with the post holder, this Job Description will be amended in the light of the changing needs of the school. During the pre-opening stage, duties may be more wide-ranging and require significant flexibility. 

Line Manager

The postholder will report to Head of Admissions

Admissions

  • Supporting prospective and current parents in their enquiries throughout the admission process across all entry points with first-class customer service
  • Maintaining the admissions portal and database, and other appropriate school management systems, and website to ensure application information is up to date
  • Assisting the assessment and interview administration, organisation and execution and supporting candidates and parents across all forms of communication in an accurate and timely manner
  • Performing invigilation duties, where required, for the assessment stages across all entry points
  • Liaising with internal departments in supporting scholarship application, assessment and offer processes 
  • Assisting with organisation and management of offer holders’ fairs and induction events for new students and parents
  • Supporting the Head of Marketing and Admissions with the planning, execution and management of open days, evenings, and other promotional events to attract prospective candidates whilst promoting the school with positivity and engagement
  • Attending and representing the school at external events which may fall in and outside of school hours
  • Supporting new students’ information collection and management, in preparation for their commencement at the school
  • Building links with existing and potential feeder schools in the promotion of the school’s mission and values
  • Analysing trends in admissions data in relation to applications, offers and acceptances
  • Supporting the Head of Marketing and Admissions in developing admissions and bursary ideas and produce relevant communications and events
  • Producing data analysis and reporting on admissions and bursary successes and trends
  • Liaising and collaborating with external and internal personnel in a timely and professional manner
  • Undertaking additional reasonable tasks as the Head of Marketing and Admissions or senior school staff require

General

  • Attend meetings as appropriate 
  • Represent the school with students, staff and parents, working flexible hours as necessary 
  • Regularly review own practice, set personal development targets and take responsibility for own continuous professional development
  • Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and positive, courteous relations with students, parents and colleagues
  • Work within the school’s health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for all staff, students and visitors
  • Perform ad hoc duties as they arise from time-to-time
  • Meet deadlines 

Safeguarding requirements

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students in accordance with the School’s safeguarding policies
  • Participate in all required safeguarding training and remain updated on policy changes
  • Understand that non-compliance with safeguarding expectations constitutes a disciplinary offence
  • Recognise that any allegations involving safeguarding will be managed under statutory requirements in consultation with Thai authorities and international safeguarding standards.

Professional Development

  • Participate in the school’s performance review process
  • Attend all the required INSET and training sessions, including compulsory safeguarding training
  • Engage in ongoing professional development as directed by line manager. 

THE PERSON

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and professional written communication skills 
  • Extensive experience in an administrative role, preferably in admissions with proficiency in mail merge and other required tasks
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Forms
  • Experience in OpenApply, iSAMS or similar admissions systems and data analysis
  • Works with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work confidentially, efficiently with discretion
  • Excellent time management with ability to prioritise and willingness to work beyond working hours if required to meet deadlines

  • Fluent in English
