The Lancaster County Department of Corrections is seeking a motivated and versatile Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is perfect for an HR professional who enjoys tackling a wide range of responsibilities and building strong working relationships in a dynamic setting. What You’ll Do:

Manage full-cycle recruiting and hiring to attract top talent to our team.
Develop and implement employee recognition events and programs that boost morale and engagement.
Administer employee relations issues professionally, including corrective actions and performance improvement plans.
Administer the performance evaluation process to ensure timely and accurate completion.
Assist with the administering ADA, FMLA, and other leave programs while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Stay current with employment laws and best practices to maintain compliance and implement new policies as needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with team members at all organizational levels.
Knowledge of human resources principles, including ADA, FMLA, and performance management practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Three (3) years of professional human resources experience, preferably in 24/7 operations (public safety or corrections.)

Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in an office setting within the correctional facility.
May be required to travel to training sessions or off-site meetings.
Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, or a related field, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements:
Must be United States Citizen, at least 19 years of age or older, no convictions of crimes punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary for a term of one year or more unless pardon received. Must pass local and national criminal history and fingerprint check, substance abuse testing, and physical examination.

Pay increases are available upon completion of the 6-month new employee probationary period, and annually thereafter based on performance.
