Full Time
We are currently looking to bring on a Senior Contract Administrator to join a growing Newcastle-based consultancy, working across infrastructure, mining and complex project environments.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that goes beyond traditional contract administration, working alongside a team that specialises in contract, commercial, legal and safety advisory across major projects.
The role will initially involve a 6-month secondment, embedded within a client project, before transitioning into a broader consultancy position supporting multiple clients and projects.
Waltrix is a specialist consultancy providing legal, contract, commercial and safety management solutions tailored to infrastructure and mining projects.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting project delivery through strong contract and commercial management, working closely with project teams, stakeholders and contractors.
This is a hands-on role where you will be embedded within projects, providing real-time support across contract administration, risk management and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Administration of head contracts and subcontracts
• Management of variations, extensions of time and claims
• Preparation and assessment of progress claims
• Supporting procurement and subcontract engagement
• Identifying and managing contractual and commercial risk
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project frameworks
• Working closely with project teams to drive commercial outcomes

• 5+ years experience in a Contract Administrator role
• Background in mining, engineering or major project environments preferred
• Strong understanding of contract management principles and risk allocation
• Experience working on complex projects (infrastructure, resources or similar)
• Ability to operate both independently and as part of a project team
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement ability
• Comfortable working in embedded, client-facing environments
Why This Role
• Opportunity to join a growing, highly regarded consultancy
• Exposure to complex infrastructure and mining projects
• Work across both client-side and contractor environments
• Be part of a business that partners with clients, not just services them
• Clear pathway beyond initial secondment into long-term advisory work
