Full Job Description
Looking for an individual with at least 5 years of RECENT experience as a medical office assistant or similar position. Must know how to use insurance websites and phone numbers to verify insurance, perform prior authorizations for neurological procedures, and obtain pre-certifications. Must be experienced with using EMR/Practice management systems.
Experience with workers’ comp is preferred.
Experience with Kareo practice management is a plus.
Experiencing with Elation Health a plus.
Office managerial skills is a must.

Duties:
Answer phone calls and voicemails
Check patient messages daily
Verify insurance
Perform prior authorizations
Schedule appointments
Scan intake forms and insurance cards
Input patient demographics
Collect copays
Collect patient balances
Document payment
Take Vitals
Communicate effectively with case managers and insurance adjusters
Coordinate referrals
Follow up with daily and weekly tasks
Help keep office organized and efficient
Schedule business appointments
