This position is eligible for appointment at Step 1, $40,830.40 annually. County employees are subject to the County promotion rule for step placement.

About the Position
Sheriff’s Records & Identification Clerk I is the entry and first working-class level in the Sheriff’s Records & Identification Clerk Series. Incumbents learn to search, retrieve and provide confidential criminal record information to other law enforcement agencies, courts, and authorized personnel. They perform increasingly more responsible, difficult and independent records updates, penal code mandated duties, and database inquiries and updates.

Education and/ or Experience
Education, training, and/or experience demonstrating possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above. Qualifying education/experience:

1. Eighteen (18) months of full-time, progressively responsible clerical experience;

2.OR;Six (6) months of full-time clerical experience, AND, completion of a college-level clerical business curriculum, which included a class in computer operation/literacy.

Working Conditions

Incumbents are subject to involuntary overtime, shift, weekend, and holiday work.
