Role Description The Sourcing & Purchasing Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Malaysia. This role is responsible for coordinating end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing raw materials and packaging, shipment tracking, documentation compliance, preparing & processing purchase orders (local & overseas), and maintaining accurate purchasing records. The coordinator will evaluate suppliers, compare quotations, and support negotiations to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely procurement. Daily tasks include monitoring inventory levels, liaising with internal stakeholders such as production, R&D, and finance, and resolving delivery or quality issues with suppliers. The role also involves analyzing purchasing data to identify opportunities for optimization, supporting compliance with company policies, and contributing to continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and general purchasing practices, with the ability to manage day-to-day procurement activities efficiently.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and tracking purchase orders (local & overseas), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, supplier evaluation, and basic contract or price negotiation to support sourcing decisions.
  • Solid analytical skills to interpret purchasing data, compare supplier offers, monitor costs, and support decision-making.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with SAP or purchasing systems and MS Office (especially Excel) for data management and reporting.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the food, flavours, or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
