Job Description and Duties
Execute timely posts and oversee the day-to-day management of the First Partner’s social media platform i.e. Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, etc.
Create a strategic, weekly social media calendar to ensure consistent branding across platforms.
Produce creative content for social media posts and coordinate post approvals.
Monitor social media conversations, new content trends, and identify real-time opportunities for engagement.
Produce social media analytics reports.
Manage and execute digital content creation and overall branding of the office.
Content creation: graphics, posters, flyers, and videos.
Develop video concepts, capture footage, edits content, and ensures videos effectively convey messaging.
Optimize content for various platforms.
Staff events and captures high quality photo and video content on-site.
Draft public communications from the Office of the First Partner including but not limited to press releases, website copy, talking points, and video scripts.
Direct visuals for video recordings with the Governor in the office, Mansion, etc.

Working Conditions
Candidates with the most desirable qualifications will be invited for interviews. Interviews will be held in Sacramento, California. This position serves at the pleasure of the Governor and is an “Exempt” position, therefore appointment to this position and salary are subject to executive approval.

The Deputy Director of Digital Communications is a critical member of the First Partner’s team, integral to growing awareness of the First Partner’s initiatives, partnerships, and work to build a California for all women and children. The Deputy Director of Digital Communications will help communicate to the public the mission and value of the Office of the First Partner’s work. The Deputy Director of Digital Communications provides support to the Communications Director through the creation of digital content and drafting public communications. This full-time, salaried role is ideal for a strong writer who loves new content trends and is highly engaged in modern social platforms.
