Duties

As aStudent Trainee (Administration), you will be a participant in the Pathways Intern Program and perform administrative work assignments that are clear-cut, well-planned, and designed to support the organization’s mission. You will receive on-the-job and formal training to perform routine administrative assignments under supervisory instructions on objectives, limitations, priorities, and deadlines. Below is a list of duties that will be performed by the incumbent:

Update manuals on policies, directives, and other memoranda.

Create and maintain various spreadsheets, databases, and other documents.

Collect, verify, compile, and summarize data or information.

Process routine actions and assist higher-level specialists in more complex activities.

The Intern (Career) must:- Be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on at least half-time basis as determined by the educational institution;- Meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of their appointments;- Meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the agency’s Participant Agreement with the Intern and;- Meet the qualification standards (e.g., series and grade) for the position.

Applicants must demonstrate proof of enrollment for the Term (Fall) of 2024 by submitting an official proof of enrollment letter from a qualifying educational institution or a transcript indicating courses to be taken in the Fall Term of 2024. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

This position is being recruited with an opportunity for non-competitive conversion eligibility to a permanent OR term position in the competitive service upon completion of all program requirements. Conversion is not mandatory nor guaranteed (see Other Information).

Salary Ranges:
Portland, OR:$52,734 – $92,340
Lacey, WA:$54,896 – $96,124
Seattle, WA:$54,896 – $96,124

NOTE:

A one year probationary period may be required.

Payment of relocation incentive may be authorized.

Payment of recruitment incentive may be authorized.

*This position is not in the bargaining unit.

Key Requirements:

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.

Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable (www.sss.gov)

A minimum of one year trial period is required.

If converted to a permanent or term appointment, the anticipated target position will be ZA-0343-3; however, the target position and FPL may change based on the need of the organization at that time. Interns must meet the qualification requirements for the position to which converted.

If selected, you will be required to provide official transcripts &/or letter from the school stating you are enrolled in a degree/certificateprogram on at least a half time basis in good standing and your expected graduation date.

A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant’s successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
