Program Summary

This role is with KBR’s GAM (Global Asset Management) group.  At GAM, we provide our customers with a range of services including Regulatory and Customer Compliance of Property Systems, Import/Export Trade Compliance, Material Management, Stockrooms/Tool Cribs/Receiving, Engineering Tool Design and Rework/Repairs, Records Management, Distribution Services, Capital Asset Management, Development & Production-Equipment Maintenance, and Facilities Project Management​.

The Systems Engineer will:

Plan, implement, and manage installation, modifications, and/or renovations made to facilities and/or production equipment.

Coordinate and resolve customer requests related to equipment operations.

Provide recommendations to modernize or optimize equipment such as compressed air systems, controls, systems configuration, operating points, etc.

Perform complex assignments and fulfill broad responsibilities where outcomes are defined, but methods and procedures may vary.

Determine solutions to improve the efficient use of energy including electricity, gas, compressed air, and water identifying ways to reduce waste.

Coordinate the work of others and assist less experienced team members.

Execute routine administrative duties including timecard management, tier accountability, metric reporting, and training.

Accumulate technical engineering data and review specifications to determine application to a particular job.

Prepare statement of work (SOW), plans and specifications in the form of drawings, and descriptive specifications and submit for review and approval.

Select the most cost-effective method for equipment repair or replacement through application of engineering standards.


Must be a US Citizen

Must be able to work onsite Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm with ability to work flex days and occasional weekends based on business needs.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with industrial systems operation.

Skills in mathematics, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.

Ability to understand equipment manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions and troubleshooting guides.

Experience with test equipment, electrical controls, pneumatic and mechanical systems.

Work well in a self-directed role with a strong work ethic.

Must be able to work 10% of weekends or evenings to work around operations.


Professional engineering license.

Experience troubleshooting automation systems and programmable logic controllers.

Experience maintaining and troubleshooting advanced manufacturing systems and controls.

Strong mechanical and electrical skills.

Able to read and interpret test instructions, assembly instructions, and engineering drawings (blueprints).

Ability to analyze data and quickly make decisions and recommendations based on analysis.
