Position: TITLE BUREAU EXAMINER
New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles
Pay Range: $17.81 – $23.39 per hour
The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles, has a full-time vacancy for a Title Examiner, SOC Title 43-4030 LICENSE CLERKS-2. This position involves a 37.5-hour work week and is considered non-exempt.
Summary
Examines and approves title applications and supporting documentation for issuing motor vehicle titles, ensuring compliance with NH motor vehicle laws, rules, and procedures. Responsible for data entry, document accuracy, and providing excellent customer service.
Experience Counts
Additional education may substitute for work experience, and vice versa.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education can substitute for work experience.
Experience: Two years in a responsible clerical position, including typing.
License/Certification: Not required.
Special Requirements
Background check including fingerprinting.
Completion of a multi-week training program with ongoing evaluations.
Flexibility to work varied hours and travel as needed.
Responsibilities
Review and approve/deny title applications, verify authenticity, and issue titles.
Use computerized systems for data entry and document storage, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Validate application data, prepare rejection correspondence if needed, and recommend investigations for fraud.
Collect fees, process transactions, and issue receipts, ensuring security and accuracy.
Close daily deposits and conduct training sessions for external entities on title rules and procedures.
Assist customers with inquiries and other related duties as assigned.
