The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $65,523 – $108,113 We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The Agency of Human Rights & Community Partnerships (

HRCP

) is an umbrella agency established in 1947 by newly elected Mayor J. Quigg Newton to set himself in opposition to the legacy of prejudice established by his predecessor, Benjamin F. Stapleton, a known member of the Ku Klux Klan. In early years the agency (then known as the Committee on Human Relations) found systemic discrimination widespread in Denver. The Committee grew, continued to conduct research, provide recommendations, publish academic papers, and advise the Mayor for the ensuing decades. With the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in 1990, the Committee became the Agency for Human Rights and Community Partnerships and the Division for Disability Rights emerged.

The Denver Division of Disability Rights) is responsible for bringing the voice of the disability community together with disability justice laws and regulations to help ensure that city owned or operated facilities and programs are fully accessible and inclusive to people with disabilities. The Division of Disability Rights works closely with all City agencies to provide advice, guidance, and feedback from to the community to the agencies in accordance with the ADA and other federal, state, and local disability justice laws and regulations. HRCP and the Division of Disability Rights recognize that diverse perspectives, skills, and resources strengthen the foundation for lasting solutions and strongly encourages individuals living with disabilities to apply.

The Division of Disability Rights is currently hiring for a full-time, ADA Coordinator.

Under the supervision of the Disability Rights Division Director, the responsibilities for this position include:

Serve as the City and County of Denver’s technical expert regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability justice federal, state, and local laws and provide consulting and technical guidance to managers, ADA liaisons, and the community

Receive, respond to, and/or delegate complaints about disability discrimination or lack of disability access in City owned or operated facilities or programs and track such complaints

Maintain, monitor, and provide appropriate and relevant information to our stakeholders through the [email protected] community platform and
