Full Job Description
Tanglewilde Veterinary Clinic—a two-doctor, small animal practice in Houston’s Memorial Area—has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Receptionist to join our team!
We’re looking for compassionate team players with exceptional communication and multi-tasking abilities. Candidates must be attentive, willing to jump in where needed, and have excellent time management skills.Veterinary experience is required; 1+ years of current, hands-on experience is ideal.
This is a full-time role comprised of 4-10s. We’re open Monday-Saturday and our team rotates coverage for Saturday and weekend kennel shifts.
The ideal candidate:
Current, hands-on veterinary experience
High energy team players with excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities
Great attention to detail, outgoing, and friendly
Enjoys connecting with clients as well as the team
Friendly personality and excellent customer service skills
Remains calm in emotional, stressful, and fast-paced environments
Committed to a career in veterinary medicine with interest in growth and ongoing training
Experienced with (or familiar with) Covetrus Pulse is a plus!
Skills and responsibilities:
As our next receptionist, you will be critical to our hospital team by establishing a great first impression to clients, providing visitors a warm welcome, and ensuring our day-to-day hospital flow runs smoothly. Those best fit for the role are positive, compassionate, and proactive individuals who love making a difference in the lives of pets and establishing long-term relationships with their owners.
Primary skills and responsibilities:
Providing first class client communication and education
Booking appointments
Daily assignments/scheduling
Checking clients in and out
Answering client questions and concerns
Monitoring email and phone correspondence
Scanning, copying, typing/other general office duties
Ensuring that the reception area of the hospital is always clean and presentable
Liaising between clients and technical team

Compensation:$14.00 – $16.00/hour (based on experience)
