The AOC Department of Human Resources has an immediate need to fill a Human Resources Administrator position. The HR Administrator position provides critical administrative support and coordination to the Employee Experience team, which administers classification, compensation, employee relations, staffing, and training & employee development. While this position reports directly to the HR Assistant Manager, it functions as a flexible resource across these key HR functions to enhance service delivery and ensure consistent support for employee-focused initiatives.

Examples of Duties or Responsibilities of this Classification:
Provide day-to-day administrative and programmatic support across HR functions managed by the Employee Experience Team.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters.
Track assignments, prepare reports, and provide updates to the HR Assistant Manager and supported HR functions.
Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries.
Facilitate assigned content during New Employee Orientation (NEO), ensuring new hires are welcomed, oriented to policies and culture, and equipped for a successful start.
Maintain and audit HR records—including onboarding, classification, compensation, and policy-related documentation—in accordance with the records retention schedule.
Review new hire applications and resumes to determine eligibility for job classification and approved salary.
Calculate employee salaries in accordance with Judicial Branch Pay Practices.
Review employee educational achievement applications to determine eligibility for salary increases.
Coordinate and schedule investigative interviews and related meetings.
Monitor and respond to inquiries related to disciplinary actions and investigations, routing as needed.
Compile and maintain documentation and logs for disciplinary cases and internal investigations.
Prepare employee files in response to personnel file or open records requests.
Track compliance related to employee relations processes, including timesheet coding and personnel actions.
Serve as backup to the HR Staffing Specialist as needed, including reviewing, and posting job vacancies, supporting with job fairs, monitoring requisitions, and coordinating with hiring managers.
Provide logistical support for employee training, workshops, and engagement sessions.
Assist in planning and coordinating employee development initiatives (e.g., generational awareness, communication skills).
Tracking participation, feedback, and outcomes of training programs.
Track and confirm completion of background checks for selected candidates.
Review and document secondary employment requests for compliance with policies.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives related to Employee Experience.
Provide backup support to team members during absences or peak periods.
Prepare summaries, spreadsheets, and basic reports to support team operations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business related field

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: 3 years of job-related experience

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associate degree with 5 years job related experience or HS diploma with 7 years job related experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Demonstrated knowledge of labor and employment law and employee relations preferred. Experience with investigating employee complaints preferred. Ability to interact and effectively collaborate with diverse individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Efficient, organized workstyle and an ability to manage multiple deadlines. Relevant training and, or certifications pertaining to employee relations preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Working Conditions
Primarily works with an office setting. Occasional in-state travel required. Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
