Legal Administrative Assistant

Your experience and strengths should include excellent organizational, writing and communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, corporate officials, and vendors in a professional manner. One must be able to perform at a high level and efficiently in a team-oriented environment and have the ability to prioritize work assignments to meet client-specific deadlines. Five years of experience is required. Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification from an accredited source preferred.

A typical day at the firm:
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform a variety of administrative duties for multiple attorneys.
Prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
Communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and officials.
Schedule meetings using Outlook Calendar.
Conduct conflict checks and open new matters.
Draft engagement and conflict letters.
Transmit testimony or submissions to County officials.
Manage large mailing projects, including merging address lists and creating envelopes/labels.
Assist with attorney reporting for the Montgomery County Ethics Commission.
Track and note deadlines.
Sort and process incoming mail.
Scan materials and manage document conversions (Word to PDF and PDF to Word).
Type correspondence and documents, including using track changes.
Utilize standard office equipment.
Participate in firm committee meetings.
Perform other general legal assistant and administrative duties as required.
Skills one will need to be successful:
Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters
Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors. Attention to detail is a must
Ability to timely deploy the steps to enact counsel’s and client’s strategy on the transactions
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Compare Docs, and TABS billing software.
Strong word processing and formatting skills (80 wpm).
Experience with document conversions and track changes.
Notary Public certification is a plus.

Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 depending on experience. Annual bonuses (variable depending on performance).
