Harts Family Funeralsis a family-owned and operated funeral service located in Rockhampton. We have a position available for an Office Administrator/Funeral Assistant.

This role will begin as a casual position transitioning to a full-time position for the right applicant.

This rare opportunity will require exceptional professionalism and customer service. A successful candidate will have experience in an office environment and customer service.

About the role:

The applicant must be able to multi-task, adapt and work in a constantly changing environment.

Excellent communication and people skills.

Plan, coordinate and implement all aspects of the funeral service for a family and inform them of the various options available to honour their loved one.

Work closely with the family from first contact to guide them through what is required and respond to their requests with service options and solutions.

The ability to understand and be respectful of circumstances involving grieving families, their values and beliefs.

Mature interpersonal, verbal, written, communication and organisational skills with a focus on exceptional customer service.

A friendly, caring and professional attitude and enjoy working in a team environment as well as autonomously.

The ability to take instructions and follow them, with a high attention to detail.

Assist the Funeral Director with the conducting of a funeral service when required.

The position is Monday to Friday with after-hours and weekends if required.

Skills & experience:

Must have excellent computer skills.

A high level of customer-focused experience.

Ability to follow instructions.

Ability to work independently & in a team environment.

Ability to work under pressure.

Current QLD driver’s licence.

Be open and able to handle the challenges of the funeral industry.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential. Full training will be provided in house office procedures and funeral operations.
