Job Title: Office Manager (Support Staff Supervisor)

Job Description:

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is looking for a talented, energetic and people-oriented team member to fill the role of Regional Office Manager in our Vernal office. This position oversees day-to-day operations of our licensing operations, relays information to staff and the public of regulation/rule updates as requested, and coordinates with Program Managers regarding inventory, payroll and HR actions. You would play an integral role in the success of the DWR North Eastern Regional Office, while helping to facilitate the enjoyment of hunting and fishing opportunities for individuals and families.

Responsibilities

As the Office Manager, you will:

Provide professional customer service, and supervise others, in licensing operations and daily transactions
Anticipate the needs of the region and welcome new assignments with excitement and flexibility
Manage, coordinate and advise regional management on inventory, payroll, and personnel/HR actions
Complete a variety of assignments using various state computer programs, as well as Microsoft Office and Google Docs

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Have exemplary experience in teamwork and be willing to take direction from others while working toward a common goal
Energetic about providing service to other staff and members of the public
Extensive customer service and office management experience focusing on effective communication and administrative coordination
Take personal initiative in problem solving, mastering administrative processes, and providing others with effective direction
Capable of researching and clearly conveying wildlife rules, policy, and associated laws
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel are a must) Google Docs and general computer skills
Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

B.S. in a related field or directly related work experience equivalent
Knowledge of hunting and fishing regulations
Knowledge of state finance, payroll, and inventory systems
Enrollment, participation in, or completion of a Leadership Development Program

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions or Physical Requirements:

Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, (e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.)
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
Occasional risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental situations, when helping regional staff conduct field work (e.g., depredation, wildlife management projects, and check stations).
Requirements:
Drivers license
Occasionally requires irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and during emergency situations.
Overnight travel within Utah is sometimes required to attend meetings, conferences, etc.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
