The Center for Endocrinology at Mercy in Baltimore is seeking a dedicated and professional Administrative Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities:

Patient Check-In and Check-Out:

Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.

Accurately verify patient information and insurance details during check-in.

Collect co-pays and other payments, provide receipts, and maintain accurate financial records.

Schedule follow-up appointments and update patient records.

Communication:

Answer incoming calls and address patient inquiries, appointment requests, and other concerns.

Respond to emails and HER messages promptly and professionally, forwarding messages to the appropriate staff members as necessary.

Appointment Scheduling:

Coordinate and schedule appointments for multiple physicians and medical staff.

Ensure the appointment schedule is efficiently organized, considering patient preferences and clinic availability.

Confirm upcoming appointments and manage appointment reminders.

Medical Records Management:

Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Prepare and transfer medical records as required, following established protocols.

Administrative Support:

Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.

Help coordinate patient flow and assist in resolving any scheduling conflicts.

Ensure the reception area is clean and well-organized.

Insurance Verification:

Verify patient insurance coverage and pre-authorization as needed.

Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and options.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinic staff to ensure efficient patient care.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Additional responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework or medical office experience preferred.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other office software.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Strong multitasking skills and the ability to handle a high volume of patient interactions.
