The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Administrative Support Associate position assists with day-to-day logistical operations, administrative, and processing functions for the IT division. The position provides administrative support to the two Associate CIOs, as well as to other IT Division staff members. This Administrative Support Associate position is expected to function independently with minimal oversight and direction. Duties include: Processing technology-related requisitions and invoices; reconciling IT Division funds and following up on issues when funds do not balance; taking minutes at meetings; making arrangements for travel, conferences, and meetings; managing various staff and group calendars in Outlook; composing emails; screening telephone calls and visitors; performing updates to the IT Division website; and acting as backup to the executive assistant and the other office administrative support associate. Position will also provide office support and/or procedural tasks such as: screening and routing materials based on content; provide receptionist and telephone services; and provide typing, proofreading services and other related activities as assigned.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
General knowledge of office practices, techniques, and technology sufficient to perform at this level of work. Be an effective representative for the IT Division and the CIO Office by exemplifying the division’s core values and being customer focused; ability to help find the correct answer to inquiries directed to the CIO Office; ability to compose written communication for constituencies within and external to IT; meet dates, deliverables, and commitments; ability to define and create spreadsheets; excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to proofread and use specialized vocabulary; ability to take minutes; demonstrated competency with budget processes and familiarity with Banner Finance and basic accounting practices; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; ability to interpret verbal and written instructions; ability to interpret the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations pertaining to the organization; ability to work with confidential and sensitive information; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ability to update IT Division website with news and events provided by IT Division staff and to monitor IT Division website to make certain information is up to date; ability to become proficient with University systems such as Banner Finance, Catamart e Procurement, R25 scheduling, SharePoint, OmniUpdate, and Works; and demonstrated ability to thrive in an IT culture of proactive, process, and prevention while consistently delivering high quality results.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
