This temporary position is located in Raleigh, NC – Wake County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
This temporary position will be assigned to the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services. This position is located at 4400 Reedy Creek Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607.
Primary purpose of this position is to serve as data entry processing assistant in the Sample Receiving Section. Duties include coordinate and sort all specimens received in the laboratory through various shipping methods; process those samples in accordance with standardized procedures by assigning case numbers, data entry of submitter/specimen information, distribution of specimens to each individual laboratory section for testing and attach electronic case files in the Laboratory Information Management System. Duties also include answering and directing all incoming calls through a multi-line telephone system, greets and assists clients with completion of necropsy submittal forms, data entry of client/animal information into a laboratory information system, sorting and distributing incoming mail, distributing laboratory results.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Knowledge of data entry into an information management system and previous client/customer service experience.
Knowledge of laboratory test procedures to distribute samples to the correct laboratory section.
General knowledge of office or work unit procedures, methods, and practices.
Ability to work with people with courtesy and tact.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
