Overview

Coulson Roofing is looking for a motivated and organised Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our busy office. This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career who is eager to learn, gain hands-on experience, and develop valuable administrative and operational skills within the construction and roofing industry. Full training will be provided, along with clear opportunities to grow and progress over time.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Care Management

  • Organising and maintaining the customer care diary
  • Coordinating materials required for customer care jobs
  • Managing communication with customers and builders in a professional and timely manner
  • Tracking progress of customer care requests and ensuring completion
  • General Office Duties

    • Ordering and maintaining office stationery supplies
    • Organising fleet vehicles, including booking MOTs and services
    • Keeping accurate records of vehicle inspections and maintenance
    • Supporting the team with general administrative tasks as required

     

    Learning & Development Opportunities

    ·        Comprehensive training provided across all aspects of the role

    ·        Development of skills in material coordination, ordering, and inventory management

    ·        Exposure to estimating processes, with support from senior team members

    ·        Exposure to financial processes, including but not limited to verifying invoices against quotations and purchase orders

    ·        Building industry knowledge within roofing and construction

    ·        Clear progression opportunities, with increasing responsibility as skills develop

    Requirements

    • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
    • Reliable and punctual with a proactive approach to work
  • Desirable (but not essential)

    • Previous office or administrative experience
    • Interest in construction or roofing industry

    Working Hours & Benefits

    • 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays (raises to 25 after five years of service)
