Full Job Description

Organization Mission:

To house and support the most vulnerable residents of the Sierra region.

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant (AA) will assist the Human Resources Manager with recruitment, retention, onboarding and transitioning of employees. The AA will work with the management team to manage all aspects of employee relations within the organization.

Essential Duties:

Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager

Assisting with the process of recruitment, including vetting candidates, assisting with scheduling interviews

Issuing employment offer letters and tracking pre-employment screenings

Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department

Compiling and maintaining paper, digital and electronic employee records, including holiday and sickness leaves

Assisting with the documentation of employee compensation and benefits

Supporting HR-related training programs, workshops and seminars

Entering employee data into computer database

Coordinating logistics for new hire orientations

Writing and submitting reports on general HR activities

Overseeing HR events and meetings and coordinating management-employee communications

Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency

Office filing and organization

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma REQUIRED, Bachelor’s degree preferred

2 or more years experience in a related position

Working knowledge of HR functions and best practices

Knowledge of employment law and human resources responsibilities

Impeccable written and verbal communication skills

Basic understanding of payroll practices

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Knowledge of computer applications and HR-specific software programs (ADP Workforce or similar)

Ability to learn tasks quickly and problem solve challenges

Willingness to complete job-related tasks and accept training

A positive attitude, ability to work well with different personalities, cultures and backgrounds

Livescan clearance, drug and alcohol testing, and criminal background checks are required pre-employment.

Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
