PATH Program Data Entry Coordinator
Title: Data Entry Coordinator/Operation Support Specialist
Position Summary:
The D&E Operations Specialist provides critical back office support for the Veterans Services of the Carolinas Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Program and reports to Assistant Director of VSC Operations. The position will support data collection and reporting efforts for applicable NC Continuums of Care (CoCs) and is responsible for overall quality of data entered into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) as required by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) data standards guidelines. This position will provide analysis of service impact and HMIS reports to inform decision making by VSC leadership while ensuring high data quality within the HMIS system.
Position Type: Classification – Full-time salary position, may include occasional evenings and weekends. FLSA Classification – Exempt Paygrade level –Administrative Support
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the mission, purpose, and goals of Veterans Services of The Carolinas through the implementation and usage of HMIS in accordance with all COC and HMIS defined policies and procedures that govern the data collection of street outreach programs including PATH.
Maintains organized system for storing all PATH client records.
Supports members of the North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist team by entering information into HMIS data system and maintaining database of Outreach efforts, outcomes, and enrollments.
Work to enhance HMIS effectiveness through utilization review, data evaluation, and coordination of input by maintaining an effective working relationship with State and County level HMIS data leads.
Maintains a comprehensive understanding of the HMIS database, HMIS specifications. and participates in required training offered by MICA or BOS HMIS
Provides training to our North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist on the proper use of all PATH data collection forms and work flow procedures.
Engages closely with the PATH field support and street outreach team members to gather consistent feedback on effectiveness of all data collection tools and workflows. When appropriate will bring feedback to AD of Operations for consideration if improvements are needed.
Prepares and completes reports as necessary in a timely fashion.
Gathers data and generates reports for VSC programs as directed.
Participates in all appropriate staff, supervision, and training meetings.
Conducts 18 month follow up with Veterans to track long term sustainability.
Coordinates and schedules screenings for PATH and other VSC programs via telephone, or in person as needed.
Work in coordination with the PATH team to develop custom reports for identified reporting needs within PATH’s catchment area.
Create reports and analysis for identified needs for VSC’s various programs.

Other duties as assigned. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities as well as other task not stated in this position description by the AD of Operations or AD of Outreach. These may include Veteran Stand Downs and Outreach.
Skills/Competencies
Minimum of 2 years working with at-risk populations; experience with Veterans preferred
Experience, education and/or training in social work, counseling, case management, psychology or other related human service field and knowledge of area resources for homeless individuals preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently as needed
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Human Services or relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or equivalent experience preferred.
Relationships / Working Environment:
Reports to the Assistant Director Operations and supports Senior Staff. The position interacts frequently with VSC staff, Veteran participants, and Community Providers.
The position works in an office setting and requires occasional local travel.
Physical Demands: Must be ambulatory; must be able to operate a vehicle; must have visual/hearing acuity. Must be able to write legibly. Must have sufficient manual dexterity to write and use a computer and other typical office equipment on a regular basis. Must possess dexterity, stand, sit, walk, lift and carry twenty pounds for short distances.
Mental Demands: Must have verbal ability; must be able to comprehend instructions; comprehend/ interpret charts, diagrams, prescriptions, and possess inductive and deductive reasoning.

Pay: $40,000.00 – $43,888.00 per year
