Overview

The Vermont Community Broadband Board’s (VCBB’s) mission is to ensure that all Vermonters have affordable and dependable access to broadband access. Broadband is essential forremote work, telehealth, economic development, energy equity, and the revitalization of rural communities. The Board is looking for an experienced, flexible, and motivated Administrative Services Manager III for an opportunity to leverage past experiences to provide assistance to the General Counsel, Executive and Deputy Director, and staff implementing the Digital Equity and the Broadband Equity Access & Deployment (BEAD) programs.

The VCBB is an independent office within the Vermont Department of Public Service.

This position will provide assistance to the general counsel’s office and other executive staff. This includes scheduling meetings in house and with other entities as needed, tracking short- and longer-term projects, priorities, deadlines, and legislation. The position will also assist with general research and information gathering necessary information to support executive and programmatic staff and other duties as required. This position will also prepare board materials, take notes, and capture minutes and other tasks as necessary.

The ideal candidate is positive, self-motivated, resilient, patient, assertive, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, and able to handle adiverse communityof personalities and opinions and a flat organizational structure. The ideal candidate will also have excellent research, verbal and writtencommunication skillsand familiarity with State of Vermont systems. The preferred candidate will bring both experience and initiative to the role.

This position is able to work remotely in Vermont, and will need to travel to Montpelier on a monthly basis for staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.

OR

Associate’s degree in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field AND five (5) years or more of experience providing professional administrative-level services to a business or organization which included an accounting or budgeting function and experience as a supervisor of clerical or administrative staff.
