Full Job Description

Duties

Serves as the subject matter expert for property accountability and all logistics matters within the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).

As the Primary Purchasing Agent, the incumbent has been delegated authority as Cardholder of the Department of Defense (DoD) Purchase Card account, with all applicable prerogatives and limitations in accordance with Public Law 95-507.

Serves as the MEPS vehicle manager, arranging for the pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and turn-in of vehicles.

Schedules equipment maintenance/calibration and repairs as necessary.

Serves as facility manager for a MEPS.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Must be able to acquire and retain a government purchase card.

Must maintain current Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) certification.

Must obtain Blood Borne Pathogen certification.

Must be licensed and able to drive motor vehicles.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds, and capable of utilizing material handling equipment.

Must be computer literate, but the duties do not require a qualified typist.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Additional information

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.

One-year probationary period may be required.

Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
