JOB DESCRIPTION:

Description of Responsibilities:
Assists the Nutrition Department and staff through a variety of duties including but not limited to clerical, customer service and inventory management.

Reporting Relationship
Pharmacy Tech Assistant Manager

Scope of Supervision
None

Responsibilities Include the Following:
1. Clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, customer service, data entry.

2. Gathering necessary supplies and products to assist with fulfillment of orders.

3. Faxing and coordinating medical record requests and patient refills.

4. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.

5. Participate in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.

6. Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.

7. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy.

8. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements.

9. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.

2. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.

3. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.

4. Ability to use good judgment and work with minimal direction.

5. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in “layman” terms.

Education and/or Experience:
Must have a High School diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D.) or Higher.

Minimum of 1 year medical front desk experience preferred

Home Infusion Pharmacy or DME experience preferred.

Insurance Verification is a plus but not required.

Pay: $17.50 – $18.50 per hour
