Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager Jobs in Pike County, PA at Pennsylvania – Pennsylvania Government

Your responsibilities will involve developing programs, estimates, and plans for various maintenance operations such as surface treatment, surface patching, aggregate stockpiling, snow removal, signage, bridge maintenance, and construction. Your main task will be to assess the condition of highways in a specific region of the county maintenance organization and determine the necessary maintenance tasks. This will include negotiating for available workforce and equipment, as well as identifying critical needs for the area. You will receive supervision from the County Manager, but you will also have a significant level of flexibility in planning and executing work programs. The success of your work will be evaluated based on the achievement of objectives set for the highway maintenance program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1; or

Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
