JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for handling front office reception and clerical duties in a medical clinic including greeting visitors (patients and others), patient check in/out, answering phones, preparing schedules, clinic opening and closing procedures and otherwise ensuring contributing to the smooth running and positive environment of the clinic.

This position has no direct reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Greet/welcome every patient.
Patient check in duties
Patient check out duties
Update/verify patient information.
Maintain the smooth flow of communication between patient, provider, medical assistant, and all clinic staff.
Provide assistance/information to patients as needed.
Maintain cleanliness of all common patient areas
Schedule preparation
Payment collection and documentation as required.
Documentation of money kept in office.
Appointment scheduling for multiple services
All opening and closing duties as assigned.
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Follow HIPAA regulations as directed.
Follow all policies and procedures as written with integrity and honesty.
Create an environment in the workplace which coincides with the values and mission statement of Pain Doctor

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Previous Customer service experience
Skills

Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations
Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
Proficient in the use of EHR systems

Ability to attend to details ensuring accuracy in a timely manner.
Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to occasional stand/walk
Ability to assist patients as needed with walking, sitting, reading, and writing.
Ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 30 pounds.
Close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Tolerate a moderate noise level at all times.
