Billings Clerk
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and process client billing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies.
Manage and update client billing records, including time entries, expenses, and adjustments.
Coordinate with attorneys and other staff to gather necessary information for billing.
Handle client inquiries related to invoices, billing discrepancies, and payment statuses.
Generate and distribute invoices to clients on a timely basis.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to ensure payments are made.
Maintain billing system with up-to-date client data and financial information.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring proper documentation.
Support the firm’s financial team with billing-related reporting and analysis.
Ensure compliance with firm billing guidelines, legal regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Understanding of accounting principles and general finance processes.
Experience working with legal billing and accounting software (specific experience working with PC Law and/or other cloud-based accounting software is considered a strong asset).
Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to multi-task
