Full-Time Salary Position

Sippican Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Marion, MA

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for facility financial functions based on facility standards and in compliance with state and federal regulations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS – Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration / Accounting preferred.

Minimum three years of experience in third-party billing/collections with at least one (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity.

Ability to read, write, and understand English and follow oral and written instructions. Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Fluent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and other office equipment.

Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day, proper body mechanics required.

Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics/equipment that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

1. Understands and upholds state and federal regulations governing admissions to a nursing facility.

2. Understands and upholds the Resident’s Bill of Rights and holds all resident information confidential.

3. Follows and follows all State and Federal regulations and established Personnel Policies and Procedures.

4. Utilizes excellent assessment, communication, and counseling skills.

5. Follow oral and written instructions.

6. Maintains all pertinent records in a timely, efficient, and confidential manner.

7. Always projects a professional image.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Coordinates facility financial billing/collections in cooperation with third parties as determined by the facility.

2. Supervises business office staff (facility-specific).

3. Administers payroll-related functions (facility-specific).

4. Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the Business Office.

5. Monitors billing and collection activities.

6. Compliance with appropriate controls and accounting procedures.

7. Analyzed monthly collections.

8. Assesses the level of bad debt reserves and reviews and recommends write-offs.

9. Ensures procedures are followed to achieve an accurate and timely closing at month-end.

10. Ensures all required records are maintained and submitted accurately and timely manner to conform with state and federal regulations.

11. Participates in routine financial-related meetings.

12. Performs other related duties and attends meetings as may be deemed necessary by the Administrator.
