The Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU) is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual for the position of Business Operations Manager. The individual in this position will be an integral part of the ASMSU team, working with students, faculty, staff, parents, and off-campus partners. This role serves as the first point of contact for the office and involves managing daily operations, supporting work processes, and fostering engagement.

The position reports to the Administrative Director of Student Engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and project support to the student government.

Serve as the first point of contact for ASMSU visitors, students, faculty, staff, and external partners.

Manage calendars, coordinate travel, and schedule meetings with stakeholders.

Coordinate logistics for events and programs, including venue reservations, catering, invitations, and materials.

Maintain records such as agendas, minutes, and documentation for meetings.

Update and maintain ASMSU webpages and digital communications.

Oversee procurement, purchasing, and review financial transactions.

Handle travel and expense report submissions and reconciliations.

Maintain inventory of office equipment and supplies.

Manage HR tasks including timesheet approvals, hiring paperwork, and onboarding.

Train and supervise student front desk employees.

Lead the ASMSU Club Funding Program and supervise related staff.

Collaborate with fiscal and finance departments to ensure policy compliance.

Support student leaders and program operations as part of the advising team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and education.

Experience in complex administrative tasks and supporting dynamic teams.

Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of MSU policies and systems, including Banner and Microsoft Office.

Experience with HR functions, fiscal services, or administrative operations.

Experience in student government or higher education settings.

Event planning and logistics experience.
