Hourly Pay Range (Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum): $24.250 – $28.040 – $31.820
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. As part of the terms of employment, employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member (e.g. dues paying, fee paying, religious exception contributor) for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement.
What You Will Do
Provide receptionist and clerical support to Imaging Services.
Preferred Qualifications
1 Year experience within a hospital or medical setting.
Essential Functions
Communication: Communicate scheduled times, prep and related information to the technologist for quality patient care. Ability to answer phone calls, prioritizing during peak periods of volume. Ability to answer questions over the phone to physicians’ offices. Provide patients with eye-to-eye contact and recognition as they approach the reception desk. Ability to document accurate phone messages and notifications to appropriate personnel.
Complete all special projects: Combines patient’s previous exams with current study with consideration to timely flow through the department. Completes established tracking steps with accurate data. Communicates information and delays to patients to minimize anxiety and waiting time.
Demonstrates application competency: Maintains log-in and out procedure for foreign films. Maintains log-in and out procedures for loaning films. Prepares and pulls films for conference and subpoenas. Maintains Temporary and Archive patient files with minimal unread and/or missing films. Able to communicate preliminary and final reports as requested by referring physicians.
IDXRad and IDX utilization: Able to perform registration function collecting accurate and complete information. Able to identify and document patients’ insurance information. Able to schedule all Imaging Procedure in IDX/Rad. Able to communicate appropriate preparation information to patients. Able to handle add-on procedures and emergency situations appropriately. Understanding of IDXRad down-time procedures.
Meeting participation: Attends required mandatory in-services and departmental informal meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to courteously accommodate angry or frustrated customers.
Ability to use computer keyboard-manual dexterity.
Visual acuity.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to calmly handle 50-100 telephone or personal contacts daily. Ability to calmly handle 80-1000 telephone calls.
