This position is located in the city of Santa Rosa.
Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, District Administrator (DA), the Office Technician (Typing) performs administrative clerical duties to support the DA and the Staff Services Manager III (SSMIII) for the District. As the DA Administrative Support Technician, incumbents are involved in sensitive public contact and handle highly sensitive documents related to consumer and employee issues. In addition, this position provides administrative clerical support to the District Operations Support (DOS) Manager, Supervising Program Technician II, District Contract Administrator, and Staff Services Analyst as needed. Incumbents are required to possess a working knowledge of the DOR Rehabilitation Administrative Manual (RAM), federal and state code of regulations related to the VR program. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the District Administrator, SSMIII, and other District Operations staff. This includes using various assistive technology communication devices, and other adaptive resources as needed to communicate with individuals with different abilities and diverse backgrounds.

Exam Information
To obtain list eligibility for the Office Technician (Typing) position, you must first take the online exam.
Typing Certification Information
A typing certification is required when applicants apply for State civil service clerical positions such as Office Technician (Typing). The specific typing requirement will be noted in the Class Specification.
State departments will honor typing certificates issued within the last four years, and certified from a five (5) minute typing test that meets the CalHR requirements, with a minimum of 40 WPM (words per minute).
Typing certification must be 5 minutes in length and proctored either virtually or in person. Any State Agency/Department including the Agency/Department that you are applying to may also give you a typing test.
