Position: Department Secretary – Case Management – Full Time

Responsibilities

The Department Secretary should have the ability to use excellent communication skills and is responsible for assisting the Director/Manager and other department members with coordinating the provision of patient care services related to such aspects as discharge planning and referral to community agencies and resources. The Department Secretary will also be responsible for assisting with departmental clerical functions and other duties assigned by the Director/Manager.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered. Completion of some college courses is preferred or equivalent work experience.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
One to two years of work experience in a hospital setting.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation necessary as driving between campuses is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Possesses good oral and written communication skills. Previous hospital-based work experience is a plus but not required. Possesses basic computer skills, basic typing skills, and good phone etiquette skills. Ability to multitask.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; however, additional hours including weekends or holidays may be required due to an increase in workload, assignment, and completion of special projects. Must be flexible if required to work long or irregular hours.
