Director, Yayasan Khazanah Scholarship Jobs in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia at Yayasan Hasanah
Title: Director, Yayasan Khazanah Scholarship
Company: Yayasan Hasanah
Location: Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia
This is a core leadership role for someone who genuinely cares about developing young talent. The Director, Yayasan Khazanah Scholarship owns the scholar journey from award acceptance to graduation, job placement, and alumni transition, running development programmes, managing welfare, building employer relationships, and keeping every scholar connected to YH throughout their time on the programme.
The role currently reports directly to the Managing Director. It requires someone who can run the scholarship team independently, keep the MD informed without being prompted, and build the kind of employer and institutional relationships that give YK scholars real placement opportunities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Scholar development – Plan and run development programmes, leadership workshops, mentoring, enrichment activities that actually build capability in scholars, not just fill a calendar.
- Scholar welfare – Run a tight monitoring and mentoring (M&M) process. Know every scholar in your cohort. Pick up welfare concerns early and handle them properly.
- Placement – Build and maintain employer relationships that give scholars real internship and job opportunities. Match scholars to placements, follow up, track outcomes.
- Alumni – Ensure every graduating scholar has a documented next step. Build a simple, active alumni community that stays connected to YH.
- Selection – Support the annual recruitment and selection cycle, including outreach, applicant briefings, and panel participation.
- Team – Manage direct reports clearly, review performance on time, and invest in their growth.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies/Management/Finance or any related disciplines from a Minimum 15 years' experience.
- We are looking for someone who has genuinely worked with and developed young talent, not a particular background.
- Candidates from scholarship foundations, universities (student welfare, career services, alumni), corporate L&D or graduate programmes, and youth development are all equally considered. What matters is a real track record of running programmes, handling welfare, and building relationships.
You will stand out if you:
- Have run structured development programmes for students or young professionals, designed the content, not just coordinated logistics.
- Have handled real welfare cases, known what to do when a scholar is struggling, and done it.
- Have built employer relationships that produced actual placements, not just a contact list.
- Are organised enough to manage multiple scholar cohorts and programme cycles simultaneously without dropping things.
- Can operate without close supervision and keep your line manager informed proactively.
- Write and speak clearly in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Handle sensitive information, welfare data, personal circumstances, financial hardship with genuine discretion.
