HCA Graduate Medical Education (GME) is the largest sponsor of residency and fellowship training programs across the nation. With more than 300 programs across more than 60 hospitals, we are building a leading network of innovative, patient-centered graduate medical education programs. We believe graduate medical education is much more than medical training. GME is a relatively new service line within HCA Healthcare. The group is expected to grow substantially over the next several years, so this is an excellent growth opportunity. HCA hospitals currently train more than 5,000 residents and fellows with that number growing to nearly 8,000 by 2028.
In partnership with the Division Vice President of GME, the Division Director of Graduate Medical Education (DDGME) is responsible for the operations, strategic planning, leadership and management of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) development and maintenance in the Division. The DDGME works with the DVP to resolve complex issues and make business decisions for the GME enterprise in the Division.
The role exists to direct the operations, maintain appropriate oversight, management of all medical education programs and ensure the securing and maintenance of accreditation in the Division. Scope of responsibility: Divisions with less than 25 residency or fellowship training programs and less than 400 residents/fellows. Supervises multiple Administrative Directors of GME (ADMEs).
