My client is an employee benefits agency in Fife, Washington. Employee benefits are medical, dental, vision, and other group benefits that employers provide to their employees.

This position is designed to teach you about employee benefits from the ground up so that you will have the basics to become licensed and move into more advanced service roles. The job involves both phone and email interaction with internal and external customers as well as Insurance Carriers.

This is a full time in-office role. Hours are Mon to Fri 9 am to 5 pm. The job is fast paced with lots of variety. You get to wear a lot of hats in this position. The client offers $25 to $28/hour with full benefits, free parking, industry product training and paid licensing. It is a fun team with a great work/life balance.

The long-term goal for this role is to provide you with day-to-day benefits training so that you have the tools to grow into a licensed Account Manager in the future. They will pay for your licensing program. It is a 40-hour online class and then you take the State test. Once licensed, you can start working on more advanced licensed client service tasks. You will also receive a raise upon completion of licensing.

Key responsibilities:

Answer the phone and help customers with billing, claims and ID card requests

Process paper and electronic enrollment/termination forms

Do internal audits on our groups once their renewal is complete,

Help our Employee Packets person during busy season by preparing open enrollment packets for groups

Candidates need to have at least 3 years of post-high school office experience, intermediate level computer skills with Excel and Word, (you will be tested), strong phone and email skills and extreme attention to detail. You need to live a commutable distance from Fife, WA.
