REPORTS TO:President and the Chief of Staff & VP for Enrollment Management and Marketing

LOCATION:Welch Administration Building

SUMMARY:

The Executive Assistant serves a critical role managing the day-to-day affairs of the President’s Office and the Chief of Staff & VP for Enrollment Management & Marketing’s Office providing tactical support to ensure that Cornerstone University fulfills its mission to empower men and women to excel as influencers in our world for Christ and becomes the destination of choice for Christian higher education. This position requires the ability to handle changing priorities with total confidentiality, good judgment, and discretion. The EA serves as the primary point of contact for the internal and external community on all matters pertaining to the Executive Offices; stays current on University needs to advance strategic priorities; manages the administrative aspects of the Executive Offices, President’s Cabinet, and Board of Trustees; and oversees special projects. The EA is a high-profile position requiring an individual marked by spiritual maturity, operational excellence, organizational wisdom, superior judgement, confident humility, and a bias toward action. Occasional work on evenings and weekends may be required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage all administrative aspects of the Executive Offices

Manage the workflow of the Executive Offices by understanding priorities, managing schedules, budgets, anticipating steps ahead, and keeping focused on the most important projects.

Provide administrative support to the President, including oversight of scheduling, travel, speaking engagements, expense reporting, correspondence, etc.

Assess matters involving University resource requests, recommend tactical courses of action, help to resolve matters, and maintain appropriate files/documentation.

Draft, coordinate review of, and finalize internal and external reporting from the Executive Offices, including reports to the Board of Trustees, minutes, external reports and correspondence, etc.

Facilitate functionality of councils, committees and advisory boards; manage related initiatives and documentation.

Represent the Executive Offices by providing ad hoc support to University departments and functions as appropriate.

Employ the utmost discretion given exposure to the most sensitive University information.

Provide strategic guidance and tactical support to the President

Help make wise decisions by consolidating information from various sources including feedback from others to offer sound counsel.

Manage the Major Donor Relations budget and plan events involving major donors; serve as a liaison between donors and students.

Represent the Executive Offices by serving on committees as appropriate.

Manage all administrative aspects of the President’s Cabinet

Schedule Cabinet meetings and report meetings for Cabinet members with the President.

Attend all Cabinet meetings, record minutes, and maintain files of archived minutes.

Update Cabinet member information on the website and academic catalog.
