Position Overview

Subject to administrative approval, performs administrative functions for the Deputy Bureau Chief of Training & Innovation. Serves as staff assistant handling sensitive and controversial special projects for the Deputy Bureau Chief. Coordinates and independently delegates projects/assignments to staff; follows up on assignments and projects to ensure timely responses in accordance with agency guidelines. Conducts research on special initiatives undertaken by the Bureau, applying extensive knowledge of agency operations, personnel and structure. Performs liaison duties with respect to other areas of the department and Deputy Bureau Chief’s office operating sections. Confers with Executive Staff and Division Managers at the Deputy Bureau Chief’s request as to the interpretation and installation of training programs, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Performs administrative functions for the Deputy Bureau Chief of Training & Innovation.
Coordinates day-to-day activities of the office.
Coordinates and independently delegates projects/assignments to staff.
Performs liaison duties with respect to other areas of the department and Deputy Bureau Chief’s office operating sections.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
Requires two (2) years of professional experience in a public or private organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Two (2) years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail while multi-tasking multiple projects.
Two (2) years of professional experience managing projects for a public or private organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience conducting special projects which include evaluating existing and proposed programs, policies, and procedures for a public or private organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience assisting in the planning, development, and installation of programs, policies, and procedures for a public or private organization.
Two (2) years of professional experience effectively communicating with both internal and external officials, providers and/or the general public in oral and written form.
Two (2) years of professional experience researching and developing correspondence to internal and/or external individuals.

Conditions of Employment

Requires basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
