The Administrative Specialist assumes the duty of administrative support in order to optimize workflow procedures in the office. This Administrative Specialist will serve as the point person for the management of the Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment registry. This position will also serve as the point of contact for all queries, requests, or issues and will be an integral part of the work force. This position works closely with the Human Services Branch Managers of the Adult and Child Protection Branches.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Manage the Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment registry through coordination with the Commonwealth Office of the Ombudsman and the Administrative Hearings branch.
Manage queries, requests, or issues that are brought to the attention of the Adult and Child Protection Branches.
Review, compile and/or prepare operational records and reports for compliance with federal, state, and agency reporting requirements.
Schedule appointments or meetings for the Adult and Child Protection branches to accomplish agency goals or objectives.
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the Department and Division.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
