Brief Description:
Our client, a reputable multidisciplinary engineering consultancy, is seeking a Fire Engineer to join their Fire Engineering team. The successful candidate will be involved in performance-based fire design, fire protection systems, and compliance across commercial, industrial, and specialist risk projects.
Job Description:
• Fire Rational Designs (BS 7974 performance-based design)
• Deemed-to-Satisfy fire plans in line with SANS 10400
• Wet and dry fire suppression system design (ASIB, SANS, NFPA, FM Global)
• Smoke ventilation design (EN 12101)
• Fire risk assessments and compliance audits
• Fire engineering input across ECSA Stages 1–6
• Technical reporting and multidisciplinary coordination
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years’ fire engineering experience in consulting
• Strong knowledge of SANS fire standards & National Building Regulations
• Experience with performance-based fire engineering methodologies
• Exposure to suppression systems and smoke control design
Qualification:
• BTech / BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or related discipline
• ECSA registration or progression toward professional registration advantageous
