POSITION SUMMARY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration.
Requires one year of professional experience in a public or business organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Under general direction of the Manager of the Wellness Unit for the Group Insurance Division of the Bureau of Benefits, serves as staff assistant to the Manager.
Provides administrative assistance to management and on projects that necessitate initiative and follow-through.
Prepares expenditure documents including vouchers, requisitions, etc., for the Wellness Unit.
Collaborates with the Manager by representing the Wellness Unit in meetings in his/her absence and acts as liaison to visiting officials, representatives, and Department Heads.
Provides technical support to management staff.
Collaborates and assists other managers within the Group Insurance Division on an as needed basis with performing equal or lower level related work which includes backlogs and phone coverage as it relates to the Group Insurance Division.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties outlined above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience with group insurance and IRS rules, regulations, and state/federal statutes.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience promoting health and wellness programs through effective communication and education strategies.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word or comparable database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience in data analysis and report writing.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience communicating highly sensitive information both verbally and in writing.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience with public speaking, including educational training and member facing activities either in a group or individual setting via in person or telecommunications.
Prefers one (1) years of professional experience with graphic design and/or marketing a program in a public or private organization.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends.
Requires ability to attend seminars, conferences, and trainings to stay current on methods, tools, ideologies, or other industry related topics relevant to the job duties.
Requires the ability to use agency technology/equipment (i.e., mobile phone, laptop, etc.) properly in accordance with information security awareness policies and confidentiality guidelines.
