What you will do
- Manage facilities operations and space utilization to create high‑efficiency office space and minimize real estate spending across the Northern Services Area.
- Contract management for leases and service contracts.
- Provide oversight to field staff for lease negotiations, procurements statewide, capital improvement and construction projects, document completion, and disposition of properties.
- Serve as the department’s liaison with other state agencies on day‑to‑day leasing and facilities management issues.
- Conduct routine inspections on owned and leased facilities to ensure compliance with the agency’s real estate strategic plan.
- Recommend appropriate facility budget requests.
- Review and develop construction documents to ensure work meets agency needs and adheres to applicable codes.
- Travel as required to conduct site visits and monitor projects.
- Maintain data collection for annual reporting of all leased and owned space.
- Coordinate with landlords and vendors for repairs, routine maintenance, and annual services.
- Conduct field visits to monitor project progression and resolve issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in facility leasing, facility operations, procurement, contract management, or supervisory roles.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Additional 2 years of experience may satisfy the educational requirement.
- Valid class E driver’s license.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
- Preferred:
Valid real estate license. - Strong communication principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of real estate acquisition, disposition, and management; leasing and lease contract administration; facilities maintenance and operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze data related to real estate management programs.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Problem‑solving skills and independent decision‑making within documented processes.
- Organizational planning and coordination of work assignments.
- Report preparation and data gathering.
