Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grants Administration Director is responsible for the leadership of NARA NW’s grants management. In collaboration with Senior Leadership and Program Directors, the Director will seek to improve the process and workflow by which grants are managed across the organization to ensure timely and optimal grants processing and will provide relevant data and training to program leaders to catalyze process improvements.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Supervise the Grants Managers.

Work as a member of the Grants Administration team.

Act as a thought partner to senior leaders and program leaders to provide support, guidance, and advice regarding grants and contracts budget preparation, proposal development, and budgetary spending concerns.

Develop and enhance systems for grants administration, using technology to bring innovative solutions to streamline operations.

Implement evaluation and monitoring tools to ensure grants compliance.

Manage the approval of grantee proposals, compliance review, award letters, and grants reporting within the context of compliance with applicable laws and ensuring grantmaking best practices.

Review and provide feedback to the Grants Administration team on required data for grants performance reports.

Consult and collaborate with the Grants Administration team and program staff to implement project budget development for new projects, grant proposals, and contracts.

Oversee the implementation of new grants programs in collaboration with program teams to ensure that performance requirements are clearly understood, and the appropriate services are rendered.

Provide and/or facilitate on-going technical assistance to program leaders on grants management.

Provide timely and relevant data to program leaders to promote learning and catalyze improvements.

Attend various team meetings as needed or assigned by the CFO.

Leverage strengths of the Grants Administration team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and professional development plans to maximize individual and team goals.

Conduct employee performance evaluations and annual education requirements and provide feedback to leadership to ensure consistency in application of the performance review process.

OTHER JOB DUTIES:

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, public health, social work, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years’ of progressively responsible experience in a nonprofit organization leading/managing a grant portfolio made up of multiple funders with various compliance requirements and deadlines.

Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.

Program evaluations, data management, grants management, or research experience preferred.

Proficiency with MS Office.

Experience with Federal Grants.

Possess an understanding of how to interpret funding and reporting regulations and guidelines.

Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, consultation and mediation skills, organizational skills, high accuracy, flexibility, ability to multi-task, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members.

Work collaboratively with clients, NARA staff, team members, and always treat everyone with respect and dignity.
