JOB SUMMARY

Works in direct coordination with the Home Health Agency (HHA) and the billing department to maintain carrier compliance, and audit medical records for billing accuracy, create and maintain documents relating to and supporting the tracking and trending of all billing processes. Supportive of the Village’s mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations. Completes training as required by policy.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ensures fiscal compliance and billing accuracy with ongoing compliance audits. Updates and maintains records necessary for the audit and trending process. Audits, for billing accuracy, patient medical records for order completion and clinician/provider signature. Assists in maintaining trending data on all external audit requests and their outcomes.

Makes contact with provider offices to follow up on orders.

Adheres to all safety regulations and requirements.

Handles stress well and gets along with others within the workplace and with customers outside the department.

Responsible for uploading physician face to face documentation into patient’s electronic health record.

Maintains acceptable standards of workplace conduct.

Other job duties, as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Prefer one year of previous vocational training or job-related course work.

Knowledge and Skills(required unless otherwise indicated):

Intermediate keyboard skills.

Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Intermediate 10-key ability.

Ability to write reports.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Experience:

One year of office experience is required.

Medical billing experience is preferred.

SPECIALWORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office within Village Home Health.

No exposure to extreme temperatures or hazardous sites.

May be required to travel occasionally by personal vehicle from one location to another if necessary for services provided through the department.

All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
