Full Range: $65,907 – $95,982

Description of Primary Purpose: Responsible for providing varied, complex and often confidential liaison, communication, secretarial and office administrative assistance to the Village Administrator and Mayor.

Essential Functions:

Prepares Village Board agendas, assembles meeting packets, coordinates information, drafts, processes, certifies and distributes ordinances and resolutions; updates municipal code. Updates Village website accordingly.
Schedules appointments and meetings, answers inquiries, refers to appropriate resources, communicates with residents, officials and attorneys; types correspondence, reports, forms, and other materials; reviews materials for accuracy and proper format.
Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls, providing information and resolving complaints which regularly require the use of judgment and the interpretation of policies and procedures; prioritizes contacts for effective problem resolution and use of the Village Administrator’s time.
Processes liquor license applications and renewals; plans and facilitates events, receptions and other conferences as needed.
Assists with Freedom of Information Act responses.
Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED; AND four (4) years of executive level secretarial or administrative experience which has included providing office and administrative support to management staff; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
