Part-Time Inventory Assistants

Process and submit requisitions for purchase orders, review vendor quotes and service availability, and assist in vendor selection within established guidelines. Determine supply levels, purchase timing, and required quantities.

Respond to and prepare material stock requests. Confirm orders and oversee stock/material picking, issuance, and delivery.

Provide receipting of inventory, materials, and/or services. Verify quantity and accuracy based on orders and/or completion of services.

Maintain inventory control system information and records. Ensure inventory is stored in or distributed to proper and safe locations.

Monitor, audit, and maintain inventory counts, catalog, and storage records. Identify and reconcile discrepancies, and prepare reports and statistics related to activities.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and 1 year of inventory and/or warehousing experience required, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.

Licensing and

Certifications:

Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Forklift certification.

Knowledge of:

Standard practices, methods, and materials of assigned work, including organizing, prioritizing, and monitoring work.

Inventory maintenance and control.

Basic mathematical concepts.

Occupational hazards and safety principles.

Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.

Customer service principles.

Specialized equipment relevant to the area of assignment.

Modern office technology.

Skills in:

Attention to detail.

Business math computations.

Organizing and maintaining records and files.

Interpreting laws, codes, regulations, and standards.

Providing customer service.

Utilizing computers and software applications.

Communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the public, and others.

ADA and Other Requirements:

Positions require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work:

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in both field and indoor office environments, with exposure to physical hazards, atmospheric conditions, hazardous materials, environmental conditions, and noise. Travel may be required.
