Description of Work

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain an inventory of food, tube feeding and nutritional supplement supplies, and dietary supplies for use.Inventory Assistant issues foods, supplies, equipment, nutritional supplement/tube feeding supplies to the group home units, campus activities and administrative meetings as required. Maintains a clean and sanitary environment for the inventory and equipment. Provides services as a back-up to the Pharmacy for delivery of medication carts/boxes as assigned. Provides a back-up to the Meal Prep Coordinators with assistance with sanitation inspections in the group homes.Receives all incoming orders and verifies requisitions with purchase orders. Properly receiving and storing all foods, supplies and equipment. Maintain inventory records and running balance of stock on hand.Work schedule – Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday 7am to 6pm. Hours are flexible to provide coverage for special deliveries and campus special events. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:  Thorough knowledge of receiving, issuing and inventory of foods, supplies, equipment and keeping records.Ability to organize storerooms for continuous flow.Thorough knowledge of proper handling and storage of all foods while assessing quality of products and supplies.Ability to establish and maintain high standards of sanitation.Ability to develop a working knowledge of computer programs to support the maintenance of inventory control and purchasing, maintain records and use of a calculator.Ability to read printouts and covert to productivity on schedule.Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.Ability to operate a vehicle for the delivery of food and equipment.Demonstrate knowledge of method, materials, and equipment used in food service.Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, evaluate and direct work of others to achieve a high level of performance and productivity.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of related experience;OR: an equivalent combination of education and experience.
